Tips & Tricks: Trimming Roses
Many women ask me how to trim back their favorite rose bushes. First of all, don't wait until summer to get started pruning: try to prune your roses in the
early spring when temperatures are getting warmer, and growth is under way.

Remove all dead, damaged or diseased shoots; cut any spindly growth. Most importantly, make sure that your pruners are sharp. Make a clean cut
at an angle that's above the bud about 1/8" inch or so (not more than 1/4"). Be sure that the angle is downward and prune to an outward facing bud.
